A Good Ofsted at Bebington, celebrated for their welcoming and kind community

Co-op Academy Bebington achieved Good across all areas in their recent Ofsted report.

The report’s opening summary describes Bebington as a school where 'pupils, and students in the sixth form, thrive. They know that leaders and teachers have high expectations of them and they rise to meet them'. It continues to praise the academic support given in which 'all pupils, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), benefit from an ambitious and carefully designed curriculum'.

Bebington has been at the centre of its community for over 100 years, and joined Co-op Academies Trust in 2019.

Speaking on students’ wellbeing the report read:

“In this welcoming community, pupils are kind and tolerant towards each other. They are clear that the school is a place where everyone is free to be themselves.”

Headteacher, Catherine Kelly, expressed great pride in the academy's accomplishments:

"We are thrilled with the 'Good' rating from Ofsted, which is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and collaboration of our entire school community. Co-op Academy Bebington remains committed to delivering an exceptional education and providing our students with the skills, knowledge, and personal development opportunities necessary to succeed in their future endeavors."

Dr Chris Tomlinson, CEO of Co-op Academy Trust, said:

“Co-op Academy Bebington is an outstanding example of everything the Trust believes. The Trust was developed with the purpose of providing opportunities for young people and the opportunities available at Bebington are second to none. Strong leadership is evident at every level within the school.  Experienced and inspirational staff go the extra mile for their students.”

The report comments on the support available at Bebington where a 'comprehensive programme of careers information, advice and guidance is implemented effectively for all pupils'. It compliments the work experience set up for key stage 4 and 5 students, along with the courses provided that 'encourage pupils to have high aspirations for their future'.

"Almost all pupils, and students in the sixth form, progress to positive destinations when they leave the school.”
