Wondering if Teaching is for You? Find Out with a Primary Teaching Internship

If you’re thinking about a career that has social responsibility at its heart, our Primary Teaching Internship is the perfect way to test the waters.

This is a unique, unpaid experience designed to help you decide if the classroom is where you belong. You’ll get a real feel for school life and see how we work to transform communities every day.

What to Expect

Over 1 or 2 weeks, you’ll be right in the thick of it in one of our primary schools. This isn't just about watching from the sidelines you’ll be part of the team. You will:

  • Immerse Yourself: Get a real-world look at the roles and responsibilities of a teacher.
  • Get Hands-on: Work with and teach pupils while being supervised by expert colleagues.
  • Co-plan Lessons: Learn how we plan and deliver effective lessons together.
  • Get Expert Advice: Receive guidance on how to apply for our Initial Teacher Training (ITT) programme.

We’ve Got Your Back

To help you succeed, you’ll be paired with a class teacher who will support you with:

  • Observation Skills: How to watch a lesson and effectively support pupils.
  • Planning: How to create a lesson input that really works.
  • Building Relationships: How to develop strong, positive bonds with our students.

Who Can Apply?

We’re looking for people who have a real passion for helping young people aim high. To be considered, you must:

  • Be in your second, third, or final year of study at university.
  • Be able to commit to the full internship (1 or 2 week options available).
  • Commence your programme on Monday 22nd June.
