From Farm to Fridge: Co-op Partnerships Bring Learning to Life for Pupils

Primary pupils across Co-op Academies Trust have been getting creative and discovering more about where their food comes from, thanks to a special competition with Co-op and Müller.

Through the 2026 Draw a Farm Scene competition, pupils across the Trust have been invited to put their artistic talents to the test, with the chance to see their designs displayed on the side of both a Müller and a Co-op lorry.

The winning artwork will travel up and down the country on working delivery lorries, helping to transport food to stores and bringing our pupils' creativity to communities nationwide.

As part of our unique relationship with Co-op, Co-op Academies Trust can connect pupils with businesses and suppliers who play an important role in everyday life.

Our partnership with Müller is a fantastic example of how these connections can create memorable experiences that take learning beyond the classroom.

The competition is about much more than drawing. It's an opportunity for children to explore where their food comes from, how it's produced and the journey it takes from farm to fridge.

From learning about dairy farming to discovering how milk becomes the products they enjoy every day, pupils have been encouraged to think about the people, processes and businesses involved in bringing food to our tables.

One pupil shared their excitement after taking part:

"I didn't know butter was made from cream. It's really good to eat! It's been a really good day."

Opening Doors to Future Opportunities

Our work with Müller also goes beyond the primary classroom.

Through Flash Internships, we've been able to support students in gaining meaningful insights into the world of work, exploring career opportunities and developing valuable employability skills.

These experiences help young people understand the range of careers available within businesses like Müller, while building confidence and broadening their aspirations for the future.

The Power of Partnership

Our close links with Co-op and its network of suppliers offer something special for our academies.

By connecting education with real businesses, we can create opportunities that pupils might not otherwise experience, helping them see the relevance of their learning and the possibilities ahead of them.

Whether it's seeing their artwork travelling across the country or discovering a career they never knew existed, these experiences can make a lasting difference.

Together, Co-op, Müller and Co-op Academies Trust are creating opportunities that inspire young people, raise aspirations and help every pupil reach their full potential.
