Teacher of Drama
- Salary range - MPS/UPS
- Location - Manchester
- Closing date - May 18, 2018
Due to the growing popularity of the academy and a rapid growth in student numbers, we are seeking to appoint a committed and dynamic teacher of Drama to join the Expressive Arts team from September.
The Co-operative Academy of Manchester opened in September 2010 in a new build and is sponsored by the Co-operative Group, which is one of Manchester’s largest businesses. The culture of the Academy has a strong ethical stance, using the Co-operative’s values and principles to inspire individuals in the academy to develop as global citizens.
This is an incredibly exciting time to be joining the academy as September 2018 will see the opening of our new state of the art 300-seater theatre and purpose built Drama Studios. Music and Art are also moving into brand new purpose-built accommodation, and the whole learning zone will be ideally located to really forge strong collaborative working practices. There is already a healthy culture of exciting extra-curricular activities across Drama and the arts subjects, and the new facilities will only strengthen this further, unlocking new possibilities for our students and our community.
In 2014, the academy outperformed other sponsored academies nationally and was judged by Ofsted as ‘Good’ with many outstanding features. We are delighted that at our recent re-inspection in February 2018, the academy was again judged to be “Good” with many outstanding features and further improvements since its previous inspection.
A competitive salary will be offered if the successful applicant can show:
- A commitment to the values and beliefs of fairness, ambition and respect
- He/she is a good classroom practitioner and able to motivate, engage and inspire students.
- A strong commitment to the students and raising standards
- An interest in professional development and progression
We welcome applications from NQTs and more experienced teachers alike. You will be joining the academy at a very exciting time and working alongside a talented and hardworking staff who are committed to providing outstanding opportunities for our students.
