Job description

We are seeking a motivated and committed individual  to the role of Science Technician.

You will be part of a team responsible for providing support to classroom teachers and pupils. The role will entail working with pupils from a range of year groups and abilities on practical scientific projects during lessons as well as preparing equipment and managing health and safety requirements.  Reporting to the Head and Associate Head of Science, you will also work closely with classroom teachers to facilitate learning and to showcase pupils’ great work both in class and outside of formal lessons.

To be successful in this role you will need to have the appropriate qualifications and be keen to support pupils and their teachers in the teaching of Science. Previous experience in a similar role or classroom experience will be useful but not essential.  However, flexibility, resilience, good numeracy and literacy skills and excellent communications skills will be key.

Our core co-operative values define us. Every member of staff in our academy follows our ‘Ways of Being’;

  • Do what matters most
  • Be yourself, always
  • Show you care

And these underpin both our internal and external communications.

We are a large campus set in nine acres of urban woodland and the learning spaces incorporate state of the art ICT, media and performance spaces.  This is an exciting opportunity for an inspirational and creative individual to play a crucial role in the Academy and be part of the Co-op Academies Trust, one of the top performing multi-academy Trusts in the country.

Completed applications should be returned to the Academy by email to jobapplications@mcmacademy.coop by 3pm on Friday 12th October 2018. Interviews will be held week commencing 15th October 2018
