We’re looking for an experienced HR Manager to support four academy schools in Greater Manchester
You’ll support school improvement through effective and professional HR advice and support across the full employee life-cycle, working closely with the Chief Education Officer and Headteachers. This will involve managing complex employee relations cases, dealing with HR policy queries, and trade union relations. You’ll also be involved with supporting organisational change, upskilling line managers and other colleagues with HR responsibilities, and working collaboratively to deliver HR services across the region. You’ll also be an active member of our wider HR team, working across the Trust as a whole to support casework, deliver training, and lead on HR workstreams.
CIPD qualified (or equivalent), you must have previous experience of advising on a wide range of employee issues, including casework, within a school or other public sector setting. A pragmatic team-player with great organisational skills and the ability to work on your own initiative, you’re able to build strong working relationships with, and influence the work of others, and are flexible, self-motivated & resilient.

You’ll be required to travel between academies in the Greater Manchester area (inside the M60/62) regularly, and will also provide occasional support on case work at academies elsewhere in the Trust (which currently includes West Yorkshire, Staffordshire and Merseyside). Own transport and a willingness to travel and work flexibly (with due notice) is therefore essential.
Although you’ll be officially based at our Connell Co-op College site (M11 3BS) you will have the freedom to manage your own diary to a large extent, and will be able to work flexibly across your allocated academies and from home.
