Governance Officer – West Yorkshire

  • Contract type - Full time all year round
  • Salary range - £24,944 - £28,821
  • Location - Office base at Co-op Academy Parkland in Bradford, but with home working supported. Attendance at academies in West Yorkshire for academy council meetings is required on a regular basis.

We are seeking a self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills to join our award-winning governance team, providing support for the Governance Manager and a full and comprehensive clerking service to at least four of our Academy Governing Councils (AGCs), as well as cover for other academies and support for complaints, exclusions and HR panels, as needed.

A flexible approach to working hours is essential as the role involves some twilight / evening meetings which tend to cluster in certain weeks of term. Much of the work can be undertaken from home but regular attendance at academies for meetings will be required in the future; until at least Easter 2022 the vast majority of meetings will take place online.

The successful candidate will be expected to already hold or be willing to undertake the Chartered Governance Institute’s level 3 qualification in clerking, which will be funded by the Trust.
