We’re looking for a Governance Manager who’ll join our experienced governance team.

Co-op Academies Trust was set up by the Co-op Group, following its initial sponsorship of two schools in 2010. We have now grown to 25 academies with plans for further expansion. The Trust exists to add social value. It does this through working effectively in socially and economically challenging areas having an unflinching focus on academy improvement and demonstrating a full commitment to co-operative values and the Ways of Being Co-op.

Due to the ongoing growth of the trust, an opportunity has arisen for a Governance Manager within our newly established Stoke, Staffordshire and Merseyside Hub. Based at our hub office in Co-op Academy Stoke-on-Trent, this role reports to the Trust’s Head of Governance, within a hub structure headed by the Chief Education Officer for the Stoke, Staffordshire and Merseyside area.

The successful candidate will secure effective governance by working closely with the local governing bodies within the hub, leading on governance support services and arrangements and ensuring that these are consistent with Trust-wide practice. The Governance Manager will support the establishment of the Trust’s new in-house clerking service and will line manage the clerk(s) to governors for the hub schools

If you have a strong understanding and experience of effective governance practice alongside excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills we would love to hear from you.
