It has an enviable track record of supporting schools in some of the most economically and socially challenging areas in Manchester, Leeds and Stoke-on-Trent. It currently has many schools/academies wanting to join. Recently, the Co-op agreed to provide £4m to support a growth strategy that will see up to 40 academies in the Trust by 2022. Strong governance is an important feature of how the Trust and its sponsor, supports its schools, believing it to be a key element of strong leadership and management and good pupil outcomes. The Governance Manager (Learning and Development) is required to lead the Trust’s professional clerking and governing body arrangements, within a designated area of the Trust’s hub operations, working to ensure a consistent, holistic and outstanding service throughout the Trust. In addition, the post holder will lead on the management of learning and development of the Trust’s trustees and governors.  Reporting to the Head of Governance and Communications and keeping Regional Education Directors up to speed with developments, the successful candidate will work with a wide range of key stakeholders including contractors, Headteachers/Principals, local governing bodies, other Trust personnel and professional contacts. Essential to the role is having a good understanding and experience of governance and compliance, ideally within educational settings.
