We’re changing the lives of young people in the north. Greater Manchester is at the heart of our Trust and we’re looking for an Education Director who will be a regional Leader within a year or so to take this region through an important phase. We’re managing unprecedented interest from schools and academies because we are a strong supportive Trust and have secured £3.6m from the Co-op to support our work.
We’re working to sponsor approximately 40 academies by 2022. The Education/Hub Director will play a key role in this process but will ultimately be judged on how well the academies perform once they have joined and how well they work with the Trust and its business sponsor.
The Greater Manchester Hub is made of up of primary and secondary schools alongside a 6th Form College.
You’ll need to be an experienced senior education leader with the ability to further improve our existing academies by drawing on the principles and values of co-operation.
Having a deep understanding of effective school/academy improvement processes especially in at least one area of the secondary phase, Post 16 or special or alternative provision is essential. We want people with a positive outlook on life and a genuine desire to make a difference in some highly diverse and challenging communities.
Working with our team of Education Directors, you’ll report to the Director of the Trust and the Trust Board through timely and well considered advice and guidance.
You’ll work alongside Headteachers/Principals, local governing bodies and the Trust’s range of educational partners to drive forward educational attainment. This will include performance managing the Headteachers/Principals in partnership with the chair of governors who will be a senior manager from the Co-op. You’ll lead the Hub support team in Greater Manchester and be the ambassador for the Trust and co-operative values and principles in the region.
We are based at the Co-op’s state of the art headquarters in central Manchester and currently support twelve academies in Stoke-on-Trent, Leeds and Manchester with a further 15 or so joining over the next year.
