  • Location - 1 Angel Square, Manchester, M60 0AG

An exciting opportunity for an outstanding leader and teacher of art with a proven track record, to join our internal subject director team for Co-op Academies Trust.

This is a crucial role within our Academy Improvement Strategy and a key appointment for a crucial subject. Already this initiative has been very successful with our current team reflecting good progress in key areas and we know this appointment will be equally as positive.

The successful candidate will work mostly on KS3 and KS4. However, you will be working with students and staff at KS2 and KS5, so experience in these areas would be an advantage. You will need to know the art curriculum in detail including the specifications of a range of exam courses at GCSE and also be able to coordinate the development of art within our primary academies working with our primary curriculum director.

This is an internally advertised post, so we are looking for a current art leader within our academies to take this role 1 day a week. Your existing role within the academy should be negotiated with their individual headteacher should you be successful.

This is a really interesting and exciting challenge to improve all standards of art across the Trust. Developing curriculum and assessment in a full range of academies ensuring art teaching is of the highest quality.

Based at one of the Trust’s academies 4 days a week with Trust work on an agreed day in the week. This may involve travel across the Trust academies and also taking advantage of online networking and CPD opportunities.

Deadline: Friday 18th March

Interviews will take place: 27th April. Where possible interviews will be preceded by a visit to your art department by Nick Lowry (CEdO: Staffordshire and Merseyside) before Easter.
