The Co-op Academies Trust (CAT) is sponsored by the Co-op and is the largest business sponsored academy chain in the country. The Trust has an enviable track record of supporting schools in some of the most economically and socially challenging areas in Manchester, Leeds and Stoke-on-Trent. It currently has many schools/academies wanting to join. Recently, the Co-op agreed to provide £4m to support a growth strategy that will see up to 40 academies in the Trust by 2022.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an Acquisitions and Development Officer to join the Central Team and support the Acquisitions and Development Manager (ADM) to oversee the due diligence and on-boarding process for new schools joining the Trust so that existing school improvement resource can be fully devoted to existing academies.

The role includes supporting the ADM in the preparation and implementation of agendas and minutes, timelines, spreadsheets, plans and reports to both Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and/or Trust Board to ensure the acquisition of schools and academies match the Trust’s strategic objective of having around 40 academies in the Trust by 2022.

The successful candidate will project manage all key Onboarding tasks which involves the production of and regular monitoring of tasks and activities such as Governor liaison, presentations to school staff, parents and stakeholders, school SLT visits to 1 Angel square. In addition the successful candidate will prompt any SLT members (in a timely way) regarding their key due diligence tasks, especially regarding the Onboarding aspect of due diligence, and will regularly communicate with key stakeholders in the due diligence and onboarding process, for example; schools / academies and other agencies.

As well as having the appropriate professional qualification you will have excellent attention to detail and communication and interpersonal skills. In addition you will have excellent organisational skills and will be able to build strong working relationships with, and influence the work of others, where there is no supervisory / management relationship. You will also be flexible, self-motivated & resilient.
