Wear yellow for Lonely, Not Alone!
Last year we supported the launch of #LonelyNotAlone, a campaign to tackle youth loneliness.
Lonely, Not Alone is Co-op Foundation’s campaign against youth loneliness.
We've been blown away by all the photos and positive messages for #LonelyNotAlone today. Thank you so much. Loneliness is hard, but we're in this together.

Only a third of 10-25 year olds would feel comfortable asking for help if they felt lonely. Because of the stigma attached to it, many young people just stay in the cycle of loneliness.
This year Lonely, Not Alone is back and bigger than before. This video from the campaign shows where the inspiration came from and some young people’s experience with loneliness.
In 2019, the young people involved with the campaign chose yellow socks as their campaign idea because the colour reminded them of hope, while the semi-hidden nature of socks reflected what loneliness felt like for them.
Our staff and students got their yellow socks (and shoes) out to show their support!
Today we were in it together to raise awareness for the @lonelynotalone campaign by wearing yellow socks.
Our pledge is to check in on one another, pass a smile & make a cuppa.#InThisTogether #OOTDYYellowsocks @lonelynotalone @coldplay #yellowsong @Coop_Foundation pic.twitter.com/xmrttR68Dg

With the Covid-19 pandemic still affecting all of us, our young people need support more than ever.
We’re wearing our yellow socks to show young people that they might be lonely, but they’re not alone. It’s hard being lonely, but we’re in this together. Will you share your #OOTDYellowSocks too? #LonelyNotAlone @lonelynotalone pic.twitter.com/R4HAWxhGI7

So pop on some yellow socks and a smile and reach out to those around you. We all need a little help sometimes!
