Mike Greenacre is a highly motivated and focused individual with over 45 years wide and varied business experience, primarily in the Travel sector. He retired from business as Managing Director of Co-operative Travel Group in December 2011 after concluding a multi million pound joint venture with Thomas Cook.
He has served on the Management Executive Board of United Co-operatives for 14 years giving him a grounded understanding of the many trading divisions of the Co-operative businesses.
Mike was a Board Director for the Institute of Travel and Tourism and inducted into the Travel Industry Hall of Fame in 2009. He was Vice Chair of the Travel Foundation, a sustainable tourism charity and currently an ambassador for Just A Drop, an international water charity.
Mike was the Chair of Co-op Academy of Stoke-on-Trent, a post he held between 2008 and 2016. He first became involved in the education sector with the planning and delivery of the new academy in Stoke, representing the Sponsor. He is also a member of the Trust Audit and Risk Committee.
He is passionate about his involvement with education where he strongly believe he can make a positive difference to our students education outcomes thus contributing to a better quality of life for them in the future.
