Lynda Johnson | Education Director
Lynda Johnson joined the Co-op Academies Trust in April 2017 as Education Director (East Pennines). She works with leaders of Trust academies in Leeds, Bradford and Kirklees to help them achieve best possible outcomes for pupils, including in their personal development. Lynda’s current responsibilities in the Trust include oversight of the IRIS Connect programme and links with a range of partners including local Teaching Schools, The White Rose Maths Hub and Leeds Trinity University.
Born in Dewsbury, Lynda qualified as a teacher in 1992. She taught in a number of schools in West Yorkshire before becoming a maths consultant for Barnsley LA and then a headteacher of two schools in Calderdale. As CEO, Lynda then established a successful small multi academy Trust in Calderdale. Lynda was also designated as a National Leader in Education in 2012 and supported a number of other primary schools. During this time she also joined Ofsted as an additional inspector and inspected many primary schools and academies.
Lynda lives with her partner and 2 dogs. She lives west of Huddersfield on the very edge of the National Trust moorland. She is a keen horse rider and enjoys competing and spending time pursuing her hobby.
