Claire Scanlan | Head of Governance & Communications

Claire has worked in the education sector for twenty-four years having management roles in local government, education consultancy and central government.   Claire most recently worked as a senior manager in Ofsted contributing to the quality assurance of inspections, and inspection reports. She’s been a governor in two schools in Lancashire where she lives with her husband, son and Arthur, the cocker spaniel! More of her time now is spent dog walking rather than on the running that she’s mastered and enjoyed over the last twenty years.  Claire holds dear, what she does and how she does it. She’s with the Trust because she feels its aims and core values are like hers.

Claire is responsible for:

  • Governor recruitment
  • Governance services
  • The annual Governor Conference
  • Effective communications within and beyond the Trust
  • Publication of the trust’s annual report and all general communication including the website
  • Data Protection
  • Due diligence of governance and data protection arrangements in schools joining the Trust
