Colleagues Present Co-operative Leadership at Chartered College of Teaching Conference.
Two colleagues from the Co-op Academies Trust presented at the Chartered College of Teaching’s ‘Third Space’ Conference in Manchester in early July.
Poppy Lewis from Co-op Academy Woodlands and Michelle Peavoy from Co-op Academy Manchester have been studying on the Trust’s Masters in Co-operative School Leadership, and presented their findings and experience of co-operative leadership in education to delegates.
The event, which promotes evidence based research and practice, was held at Manchester Metropolitan University - which has close links with the Co-op Academies Trust and co-runs the Co-operative School Leadership Masters.
Frank Norris, Director of the Trust, said “Poppy and Michelle have been fantastic advocates for a co-operative approach to leadership. It was their own research which was presented and they did a great job in helping delegates to understand why a democratic approach to leadership and collaborative working across academies is important for improving learning.”
“I congratulate Poppy and Michelle for their fantastic presentations and I hope they’ve encouraged more people to become co-operators and work together to improve education and leadership.”
