Brownhill Primary Academy achieves Osfted 'Good' rating

The report, published today, rates the Academy as 'Good' in all areas, including the achievement of pupils, the quality of teaching, behaviour and safety, and the leadership and management of the Academy. Inspectors highlighted the 'purposeful and astute leadership from the headteacher, deputy headteacher and senior staff' which had brought about improvement, and observed that the headteacher and her deputy had been 'relentless in their drive to improve the quality of teaching and raise standards.'

The report also praised the role that governors played in holding the leadership team to account, and said governors were 'well informed' about the quality of teaching and the progress made by pupils. The inspection team also emphasised the benefits brought by The Co-operative Academies Trust, which brings 'support and challenge' to the academy and ensures that the improvements made are sustainable.
